This exercise allowed us to revisit our mission and reaffirm our foundation. For EP, it was essential to define a mission that is both inspiring and acts as a true engine in our daily work.

From 1974 to 1992

In 1974, S. Huot acquired Engrenage Provincial Inc., marking the beginning of a new era for the company. Four years later, in 1978, the company moved into a building at 960 Sainte-Thérèse Street in Québec City, now known as Raoul-Jobin Street.

In 1987, the first expansion of the premises took place, adding a warehouse and technical office to support the company’s growing operations. Then, in 1992, the company continued its development by creating a dedicated repair department.

From 1995 to 2003

In 1995, Engrenage Provincial Inc. expanded its footprint in Québec by opening an office in Chicoutimi in October, located at 1323 Bersimis Street. The following year marked a major milestone with the creation of a training department and the launch of Hydraulique EP on Montreal's South Shore in Boucherville. further strengthening the company’s expertise and service offering.

In 1998, a new department dedicated to power unit production was introduced, showcasing a commitment to innovation and service diversification. In 2003, The Chicoutimi office moves its facilities to 2314, boulevard Saint-Paul, consolidating its operations in a space better suited to its growth.

From 2004 to 2012

In 2004, the company continued to diversify with the launch of the electro department, adding another specialized service to its portfolio. The following year, in 2005, a second expansion of the headquarters was undertaken to meet growing repair shop and storage needs.

In October 2008, Engrenage Provincial inc. strengthened its regional presence with the creation of Hydraulique Nord-Ouest in Abitibi. In 2011, the company expanded its technical expertise with the creation of a pneumatics department. In 2012, the company continues its momentum by founding a dedicated filtration department, further consolidating its integrated offering.

From 2014 to 2019

In 2014, the head office was relocated to 165 boulevard des Cèdres in Quebec City, marking a key step in the company's development. In 2016, Engrenage Provincial adopts a new identity and officially becomes Groupe EP with branches in Montreal, Abitibi and Saguenay, symbolizing its evolution and the diversification of its services.

The following year, in 2017, Groupe EP strengthened its expertise with the acquisition of Lubrification Québec.

In 2019, this growth continues with the construction of a new building for Lubrification Québec, as well as the expansion of the Val-d'Or branch, responding to the growing needs of the regional market.

From 2020 until today

Between 2020 and 2025, Groupe EP underwent a significant phase of evolution. This period was characterized by the expansion of our service offering, the integration of new technologies and the strengthening of our strategic partnerships. In 2022, the creation of the marketing department further structured our positioning and supported our influence in the industry. These years were also marked by the preparation and celebration of our 50th anniversary in October 2024 - an important milestone that testifies to the solidity of our expertise and the renewed confidence of our customers. Driven by a vision focused on performance and customer proximity, our team has adapted to market challenges while maintaining a high level of excellence. These advances have solidified our position as a key player in the fields of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrification and filtration.
